Global Wellness Day 2025 Celebrations at JOALI BEING

There could not have been a more perfect place than JOALI BEING to celebrate #ReconnectMagenta, this year’s theme for Global Wellness Day.
In the lead-up to the big day, we invited our guests to return to what truly matters — to their essence, their bodies, and the natural rhythms that heal and restore. A series of thoughtfully curated experiences unfolded across our island, all inspired by the vibrant energy of magenta, a colour symbolising connection, passion and joy. 
Each day brought new opportunities to connect with Global Wellness Day’s 7-Step Manifesto, which aims to make wellness a lifestyle. Follow along as we look back at the celebration!

7 Days to Go: Walk for an Hour
The journey begins! In the spirit of Global Wellness Day, guests took their first step (quite literally) on a path of movement, mindfulness and connection.

  • 12,000-Step Challenge: Guests and team members joined a playful quest, where each step brought them closer to winning a complimentary CORE session — a true celebration of vitality and joyful motion.
  • In Nature’s Embrace: Guests enjoyed a guided walk through our island’s serene landscapes, reconnecting deeply with natural beauty and finding calm in every breath.
  • Little Explorers: Our young guests embarked on an exciting exploration, uncovering the wonders of nature while also learning the benefits of an active lifestyle.

6 Days to Go: Drink More Water
We honoured the simple ritual of hydration, an essential but often overlooked step to nourishing the body and uplifting the spirit.

  • Wellbeing Conversation — Hydration: Our experts led an insightful discussion on how regular hydration supports vitality, mental clarity and inner harmony.

5 Days to Go: Don’t Use Plastic Bottles
Here at JOALI, we like our luxury to be sustainable. Guests joined us in making mindful decisions to protect the planet, starting with choosing alternatives to plastic.

  • Plastic-Free Bingo: It’s never too early to become an advocate for the earth. Kids played an educational game, exploring fun and innovative ways to say goodbye to single-use plastics — a vital step towards a more sustainable future.

4 Days to Go: Eat Healthy Food
Highlighting the power of wholesome, balanced nutrition, our team’s passion sparked a new zest for nourishment.

  • Wellbeing Conversation — Nutrition: JOALI BEING’s experts shared valuable insights into healthy eating and guided guests towards balanced diets that support overall wellbeing.
  • “Eat Well, Be Well” Specials: Food can be nourishing, beautiful and delicious! Guests indulged in thoughtfully crafted a la carte options designed to heal and energise.

3 Days to Go: Family Dinner with Loved Ones
We gathered around the dining table for a celebration of connection and shared joy. Eating together is a timeless ritual across cultures — and a favourite activity at JOALI BEING.

  • Feast for the Senses: Guests enjoyed a heartfelt communal dining experience, featuring sustainably sourced seafood, a tribute to nature and nourishment.

2 Days to Go: Do a Good Deed
Today brought generations together for a common goal: to make the world a better place for everyone.

  • Gardening Together: Parents and kids worked side by side to nurture the garden at B’Kidult. Through this simple act of care, guests connected with nature, with each other and with the global movement for a healthier planet.

1 Day to Go: Sleep at 10 PM
With just one day to go, we turned our attention to the power of rest and quality sleep.

  • Wellbeing Conversation — Circadian Rhythm: Guests discovered how aligning with natural sleep cycles can enhance vitality and overall wellbeing.
  • Breathe, Bend & Play: Kids embraced calming movement and breath, ideal for promoting serenity before bedtime.
  • Yoga Nidra: This deeply restorative yogic practice helped guests ease into the goal of restful, restorative sleep.

A Celebration of Unity, Vitality and Balance

This Global Wellness Day, we took inspiration from #ReconnectMagenta to nurture our relationships — with nature, with ourselves, and with one another. Our thoughtfully curated activities invited guests across generations to explore different facets of wellbeing and rediscover the power of pause, presence and purpose.

Global Wellness Day

We celebrated the special day with an array of curated activities for mind, body and spirit.

  • Awaken with Mindful Movement: Guests began the day grounded in nature — walking, breathing and moving with intention beside the waves.
  • Wellbeing Breakfast: Our colourful breakfast featured nourishing seasonal bowls to delight the senses and energise the body.
  • Underwater Wonders: Guests immersed in the ocean’s beauty, connecting with marine life on a guided snorkelling journey along our house reef.
  • Move to the Rhythm: A lively Zumba session brought exuberance and joy as guests moved with freedom and playful rhythm.
  • Family Bonding through Yoga: Loved ones of all ages came together to foster balance and harmony through shared breath and movement.
  • Forest Bathing Meditation: A mindful walk through palm-fringed trails offered a gentle close to the day, invoking calm and clarity.
  • Feel the Beat: Movement and music blended under the evening sky as guests came together in joyful dance, with a live DJ spinning the rhythm.
  • Community Event: JOALI hosted a meaningful community event at Raa Innamaadhoo, an island in Raa Atoll. Team members, guests and residents explored wellness through fitness activities, nutritional cuisine and joyful discoveries, unveiling warm smiles and heartfelt moments all day long.
