Nurturing the Next Generation of Well-Living at JOALI BEING

Wellbeing is often thought of as something we discover later in life – a journey adults embark upon after years spent studying, working or raising a family. But what if well-living began earlier?  What if balance, restoration and inspiration became a way of life in one’s childhood or teen years? This is the question we asked ourselves at JOALI BEING, leading us to a different perspective: well-living isn’t bound by age. In fact, some of its most intuitive practitioners are often the youngest among us.

As more families began visiting our island, we realised parents were not only seeking wellbeing for themselves but also for their kids. Going beyond simplified spa treatments, they were looking for meaningful experiences for young ones to nurture curiosity, creativity and movement. Answering the call, we slowly expanded our offerings to become a place where kids could discover well-living in their own unique way.

Today, JOALI BEING stands as one of the most acclaimed family wellbeing destinations in the world, with B’Kidult at the centre of our programming for young explorers.

Where Play Becomes Well-Living

B’Kidult, our multi-generational playground, redefines how younger guests engage with wellbeing. There are no formal lessons here, no rigid instruction. Instead, we invite curiosity, connection and play to lead the way, introducing well-living as simply another joyful way to explore the world and have fun.

Rather than functioning as a traditional kids’ club, B’Kidult encourages discovery across generations. Families gather for interactive culinary workshops, mixing, tasting and experimenting – side by side. Craft sessions hum with shared colours and ideas, while movement experiences invite parents and kids to try out different forms of fitness. Our team also leads explorations out in nature, where families can rediscover a sense of wonder together. Curiosity is not only welcomed but encouraged!

Through these vibrant moments, young guests develop a natural affinity for fitness, nourishment and balance – while also building self-confidence and creating lasting memories with loved ones. Kids aged 4-12 years can join tailored programmes at B’Kidult, including our much-loved Summer Camp in July and August, while teens can explore a selection of curated activities across the island.

The Four Pillars, Reimagined

The Four Pillars guiding JOALI BEINGMind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy – extend naturally to kids and teens, appearing in ways that feel lighter, playful and engaging.

  • The Mind pillar is explored through sensory workshops, breathwork and creative expression, introducing kids to simple tools for emotional awareness and focus.
  • The Skin pillar highlights self-care through treatments such as refreshing facials and playful manicures – using carefully selected kid-friendly products.
  • The Microbiome pillar comes alive through hands-on cooking sessions, centred around nourishing ingredients and the joy of preparing healthy, tasty food.
  • The Energy pillar is experienced through in-chair massages and light bodywork, helping young guests feel relaxed, calm and content.

Planting Seeds of Wellbeing

Kids’ experiences are designed to balance enjoyment with a deeper purpose. Some activities are expressive and joyful – such as braided hair styling or creative nail art that celebrates individuality and imagination. These light-hearted experiences reinforce one of our core beliefs: that well-living should feel free and uplifting, rather than strict and instructional.

Other activities carry a different intention. Our kids’ spa treatments, for example, don’t simply offer a shorter version of adult treatments. Designed especially for little ones, these gentle therapies calm the nervous system and regulate energy, allowing kids to ease into a relaxed, comfortable state.

Afterwards, young guests often share their feelings in simple but beautiful ways. Some say they feel “quiet inside”, others explain that they are “sleepy but happy”. These reactions reveal something profound: kids instinctively recognise shifts in their emotional and physical state, even if they cannot fully articulate them.

At JOALI BEING, the goal of early well-living is to plant seeds that will grow into healthy rituals, creating a foundation for lifelong wellbeing. During their time on the island, kids begin to understand that rest, self-care and movement are the natural rhythms of a joyful life.

Begin on the Right Note

Among our most loved treatments is the Young Traveller Energy Balancing Massage. Designed to help kids settle after travel and adapt to the new environment, this treatment uses island coconut oil blended with calming lavender. Gentle movements along the body’s natural energy pathways help relax the nervous system, ease restlessness and restore vitality. We often recommend this as the first treatment for our young explorers, offering an intentional start to their well-living journey.

The Future of Well-Living

Kids’ experiences at JOALI BEING are ultimately about cultivating a mindset. Lessons unfold organically through play, curiosity and shared family moments – all powerful gateways to wellbeing

By introducing young travellers to mindful movement, nourishing food, self-care and connection with nature, we nurture a generation that grows up understanding that well-living isn’t something to wait for or seek out later in life. It’s something to be lived each day – purposefully, collectively, and most of all, joyfully.
