From 12–14 November 2025, JOALI BEING welcomed Wimbledon champion and Olympic medallist Markéta Vondroušová as part of its anniversary celebrations, hosting two exclusive tennis workshops that brought energy, expression, and joyful movement to the island.
A professional tennis player from the Czech Republic, Markéta made history as the first unseeded woman to win the Wimbledon singles title. She has reached the French Open final, won an Olympic silver medal, and achieved a career-high world No. 6 ranking in singles by the WTA. Known for her creative approach, she is celebrated for her fluid use of spins, slices, and angles — a style that feels both intelligent and expressive on court.
Markéta’s natural, flowing way of play reflected JOALI BEING’s philosophy of movement that feels intuitive and energising. Rather than focusing solely on technique, the workshops explored awareness, body rhythm, and confidence in motion — inviting guests to experience tennis as a joyful form of expression that uplifts the senses and renews vitality.
“Great things take time, patience and a little bit of faith — trust the process and keep going.” - Serve and swing became moments of connection, confidence, and renewed energy, guided by Markéta’s presence and passion for the game.
Two tennis workshops were held during Markéta Vondroušová’s visit, welcoming both adults and young players to the court. Both sessions offered a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, complemented by a live DJ, canapés, and refreshments. As a thoughtful keepsake, signed official photographs were gifted to participating guests. Outside of the workshops, Markéta enjoyed a restorative stay focused on wellbeing treatments and relaxation, embracing the island as a place to unwind and recharge.
