England's most capped footballer joins JOALI’s island experiences for a series of football activations for guests and the local community.
JOALI is proud to announce a partnership with retired football star Fara Williams, who will visit JOALI Maldives and JOALI BEING this April to lead a series of inspiring football activations for guests and the local community.
Fara Williams is one of the most decorated players in the history of English football. With 172 international caps for the England Women’s Team, she is the highest capped player in English football history — male or female — and a true pioneer of the women’s game. Throughout her distinguished career, Williams represented clubs including Chelsea and Charlton Athletic, and captained Everton to victory in the Premier League Cup in 2008 and the FA Women’s Cup in 2010.
11 April 2026
In a deeply meaningful community initiative, Fara will host a football workshop for girls from Dhuvaafaru Island. Football runs deep in the Maldivian soul — yet women's football has only recently begun to find its place in the spotlight. Fara's presence speaks to that directly: a record-breaking player who proved, at the highest level, that women belong in the game. It is an event that reflects both her personal values and JOALI's commitment to the local communities of Raa Atoll.
Families are invited to take to the pitch for an afternoon of football with Fara Williams—on 13 April at JOALI Maldives and 17 April at JOALI BEING. For children, it is a chance to run, learn and be inspired by someone who has dedicated her life to the game. For parents, it offers a joyful opportunity to come together through movement and shared experience. Guided by one of English football’s greats, each session promises memorable moments for the whole family.
